Mattapoisett Town Beach
Mattapoisett, MA
Mattapoisett Town Beach is at 30 Water Street, a lifeguarded beach with a beach house, swing set and a dock. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a parking pass is needed. The harbor setting makes it easy for families to spend an afternoon between the sand and the town's small waterfront.
A properly run town beach with lifeguards and a beach house, but the parking pass system and limited hours take some planning.
How we score beachesPick up a resident pass ($10 for the year) if you live in town, otherwise the guest pass is $35. A daily $10 parking fee applies from the first week of July through the last week of August.
Unpaved lot with a parking pass; $10 daily fee from early July through late August.
A beach house and dock are on site, but the sand and lot are not rated ADA accessible.
No dogs are allowed.
Mid summer is prime time because lifeguards are on the sand and the harbor water has warmed. Fog can roll in on early mornings in June.
