Menauhant Beach
Falmouth, MA
Menauhant Beach in East Falmouth is the longest beach in town, split into east and west sides by the tidal stream that links Bournes Pond to Vineyard Sound. It is narrow and rocky in places, with small jetties, and it draws a steady crowd of local families through the summer. The east side sells daily parking.
Length and daily parking make it convenient, though the narrow, rocky shore is not the prettiest.
How we score beachesThe tidal stream between the two sides runs strongly, so keep an eye on kids near the mouth. The east lot is the one that sells daily parking.
Menauhant East charges about $15 a day in season. Check current rates and the west side's rules with the town.
The beach is narrow and rocky in places; check on arrival for the path from the lot.
Vineyard Sound water is mild by August. Onshore wind can make the shore choppy.
