Millway Beach
Barnstable, MA
Millway Beach is a small bayside town beach near Blish Point in Barnstable Village, one of only two public beaches on Barnstable's Cape Cod Bay shore. The water is shallow and the tide goes out a good distance, leaving flats that neighbors walk at low tide. It is a local, neighborhood beach.
A calm, quiet bay beach that locals use often, but the resident only parking keeps it out of reach for most visitors.
How we score beachesParking is set aside for residents, so non residents should check with the town on current rules before showing up. Low tide is best for a flats walk toward Sandy Neck.
Beach parking here is limited to Barnstable residents, and there is no daily option for non residents. Check current signage before you go.
A short walk leads from the parking area to the sand. The beach itself is soft sand with no boardwalk or ramp.
Water is warmest in July and August. The best days are mid summer afternoons, when the bay is calm.
