Napili Bay

Napili, HI

SnorkelingFamily-friendlyScenic

Napili Bay forms a near perfect half circle of sand in West Maui, small condos ringing the shore instead of the big resorts a few miles north. The reef at both points keeps the water calm most of the year, and green sea turtles show up often enough that regulars stop pointing them out to each other.

One of the more reliably calm, scenic bays on this coast, but the total absence of a real parking lot means circling the neighborhood more than once on a busy day.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Sunset here draws a crowd of guests from the surrounding condos, so if a quiet swim is the goal, come mid morning instead and beat both the sun worshippers and the turtles to their favorite spots.

Parking

Street parking along Hui Road and Napili Place is the only option, limited and competitive, since there's no dedicated public lot.

Accessibility

Several short public access paths between the condos lead directly onto flat sand, easy walking for most visitors though not paved.

Weather & the best time to visit

Summer keeps the bay glassy and clear for snorkeling, while winter's occasional north swells can add some chop and reduce visibility near the points.
