Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint
Yachats, OR
Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint sits along the Cape Perpetua stretch between Yachats and Florence, a series of small coves and beach pockets connected by short trails through coastal scrub. Cummins Creek runs through the south end of the site, and the whole stretch stays quieter than the more heavily signed stops nearby.
A genuinely uncrowded string of small coves for a stretch of coast this scenic, though none of the individual pockets is large enough for a big group beach day.
How we score beachesThere are multiple small pullouts along this stretch, not just one main lot, so if the first one looks full, keep driving south a short distance for another access point.
Several free pullouts and small lots directly off Highway 101.
Short trails, some with stairs, lead from the pullouts down to individual cove beaches.
Summer, June through September, brings the driest trail conditions down to the coves.
