Netarts Beach
Netarts, OR
Netarts fronts a long, shallow bay rather than open ocean directly, and the sand spit separating the two is a genuine local clamming and crabbing spot when the tide runs low. It's a quieter, less touristy stop on the Three Capes Loop than Oceanside or Pacific City, mostly a launch point for bay activities rather than a swimming beach.
A real local clamming spot more than a beach destination, solid if that's what you're after, but not much of a draw for a straightforward swim day.
How we score beachesCheck current Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife rules before clamming, since seasons and daily limits change and get enforced here.
Free parking near the small boat basin and along Bay Boulevard.
Flat, mostly sandy access from the bay side; ocean side spit access is a longer walk over softer sand.
Clamming is best on the lowest tides, which cluster around the new and full moon, and summer brings the calmest bay water for wading.
