North Nantasket Beach
Hull, MA
North Nantasket Beach is the town owned two mile stretch of sand in Hull that runs north from the state reservation, from Phipps Street to X Street, reached by many walkways off the street grid. It is a lower key alternative to the busy DCR end, with a working beach town feel and plenty of local surf and family activity.
Plenty of sand and multiple access points make it a solid alternative to the DCR beach, though the parking is a patchwork and the seawall sections limit some beach at high tide.
How we score beachesThe A Street access has an accessible ramp and parking, and beach wheelchairs are kept at the fire station on Nantasket Avenue. Those are useful details many visitors miss.
A seasonal paid lot sits at Hull Shore Drive and Phipps Street, and resident parking is on N Street and the XYZ streets. Some nearby churches and clubs also offer seasonal non-resident parking for a fee.
The A Street access features an accessible beach ramp and parking. Beach accessible wheelchairs are available at the fire station at A Street and Nantasket Avenue.
Summer is the peak, with the water at its warmest in August. Fall and winter storms bring big surf and dramatic waves along the seawall.
