Notley's Landing is a level headland with real ties to the region's old shipping industry, once used to load lumber and lime onto schooners before Highway 1 existed. It's a quiet, historic pullout today, more a place to stop and read the history than a beach to spend the day at.
The genuine shipping history gives it real character for such a small stop, though there's little to do here beyond the view and the story.

The historic Notley's Landing site is privately owned by the Big Sur Land Trust and remains fenced and closed to public access altogether, so pets cannot visit either.
Fog is common most mornings year round, typical of the Big Sur coast.
