Ocean City State Park
Ocean City, WA
Ocean City State Park is a forested dune campground just north of Ocean Shores, with a short walk from the sites straight onto the same long, flat beach. Cars are allowed on the uppermost hard-packed sand at a 25 mph limit, which makes it feel like an extension of the campground rather than a separate destination.
A dependable camping-and-beach combo that locals use as a base more than a day-trip destination in its own right, well kept but not distinctive.
How we score beachesBook campsites well ahead for razor clam opener weekends. They fill fast and the beach gets genuinely crowded on dig days.
A Discover Pass is required for day use; campers pay the standard state park camping fee instead.
Paved paths connect the campground to accessible restrooms and parking; the beach itself is open sand.
Dogs are allowed on leash throughout the park and campground.
Low-lying areas of the campground can flood in the wettest winter months. Summer and the fall clam season are the reliable windows.
