Old Man House Park
Suquamish, WA
Old Man House Park is a tiny, one acre park on Agate Passage returned to the Suquamish Tribe in 2004, gentle grassy terraces leading down to a sandy, shell covered beach. It marks the site of a roughly 600-foot longhouse and the home of Chief Sealth, Seattle's namesake, a deeply significant piece of local history packed into a very small space.
Small and minimal in amenities, but the cultural and historic significance is genuine and distinctive, worth including for the story more than the swim.
How we score beachesCome for the history as much as the beach; this is a small, minimal-amenity spot, but the cultural significance is real and worth reading up on before a visit.
A vault toilet is the only facility on site.
