Old Silver Beach
Falmouth, MA
Old Silver Beach in West Falmouth is one of the most popular beaches on Cape Cod. Soft white sand slopes gently into warm, calm Buzzards Bay water, and at low tide the flats stretch out far enough for kids to wade forever. Full facilities and lifeguards make it an easy family day, and the crowd is proof.
Warm, gentle water and full facilities make it a local favorite, though the lot fills early and the fee is not small.
How we score beachesArrive early on hot weekends, because the lot fills fast. Low tide is when the long, warm tidal shallows appear, so check the tide chart before you pick your hour.
Daily parking runs about $20 in season, and Falmouth sells season passes too. Check current rates and lot hours with the town.
Facilities are close to the lot and the sand is soft; expect a short carry over the beach itself.
Buzzards Bay water is among the warmest on the Cape by August. Sunset crowds pick up on calm summer evenings.
