Ona Beach State Park
Seal Rock, OR
Ona Beach sits where Beaver Creek meets the ocean, with a picnic area and a footbridge over the creek connecting the parking area to the sand. The creek itself is calm and shallow enough that families often spend as much time there as in the ocean surf beyond it.
The creek and footbridge give it a nice family friendly setup, solid and reliable, without a feature dramatic enough to draw people from farther away.
How we score beachesRent a kayak upstream at Beaver Creek State Natural Area if you want to explore the creek itself, then paddle down to the beach as an alternative to walking in.
Free lot directly off Highway 101.
A flat, paved path and footbridge lead from the lot across the creek to the beach.
Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach.
Summer, June through September, brings the calmest creek water and driest picnic conditions.
