Oneʻula Beach Park

Locals also call it Hau Bush, for the hau trees that used to shade the sand here, and Oneʻula Beach Park still draws a rougher, more surf and fish focused crowd than the family friendly park just up the road. Strong currents and an exposed shorebreak keep it from being a casual swim spot, even on calmer days.
A real local surf and fishing spot with genuine character, but the strong current and rougher edge to the crowd make it a tougher sell for a relaxed family day.
How we score beachesThis is a surf and fishing beach first. If you're bringing small kids for a calm swim, Ewa Beach Park up the road is the better call.
A free lot sits at the end of the beach access road off Fort Weaver Road.
Flat sand leads from the lot to the water, though the shorebreak and current pick up quickly past the shallows.
Calmer in summer, though the current here stays strong enough to respect year round.
