Otis Perkins County Day Park
Lopez Island, WA
Otis Perkins County Day Park sits on a long sand and gravel spit at the mouth of Fisherman Bay near Lopez Village, one of the longest beaches in the San Juans at close to a mile from the parking area. It's a solid beachcombing and birding spot, with a salt marsh on the sheltered side and floatplanes occasionally landing in the bay.
Long, easy, and close to the village, a strong walkable beach that locals actually use rather than just admire from the road.
How we score beachesPark close to the village and walk the beach as far as the tide allows; the far end of the spit is quieter than the section nearest the lot.
Paved parking with one accessible spot; an accessible vault toilet and picnic tables are on site, no fee.
Paved parking leads onto open sand and gravel. The beach itself is flat but not paved.
