Pacific Beach State Park
Pacific Beach, WA
Pacific Beach State Park is a straightforward oceanfront park next to the small town of the same name, flat sand and dunes without the drive-on access common further south. It's a walk-on beach, plain and dependable, the kind of place locals bring visitors when they want an easy beach without a production.
Dependable and easy, a solid everyday beach, but it doesn't have a standout feature that pulls it above the area's more distinctive stops.
How we score beachesThis is one of the few nearby beaches without drive-on access, so if you're used to Ocean Shores or Copalis, plan to park and walk instead of driving onto the sand.
A Discover Pass is required ($10 a day or $45 a year), with a $5 trailer dump fee for campers. Lots rarely fill outside summer weekends.
ADA-accessible restrooms and showers are on site; the walk from parking to sand is short and flat.
Dogs are allowed on leash throughout the park.
Razor clam season brings a fall and winter crowd. Summer is milder and better for a plain beach day.
