Pebble Beach is another of Tomales Bay State Park's main developed beaches, a calm bay stretch distinct from the Pebble Beach further north at Crescent City or the one at The Sea Ranch. The bay's sheltered water makes this a genuinely easy swimming option on a coast where cold ocean water usually rules that out.

The calm, swimmable bay water is a genuine draw, though the common name causes real confusion with other California beaches called Pebble Beach.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Double check you're headed to Tomales Bay State Park rather than another California beach of the same name, it's a common one up and down this coast.

Parking

A day use fee applies, though the CCC records no formal parking area; check current signage.

Accessibility

Stairs, a path, and blufftop trails connect parking to the beach.

Pets

Dogs are not permitted on the beach.

Weather & the best time to visit

Tomales Bay's water runs noticeably warmer than the open ocean nearby, making this one of the more swimmable beaches on this stretch of coast most of the year.
