Playa Los Cerritos is the most accessible surf beach near Todos Santos in Baja California Sur, Mexico, a few hundred meters of dirt track off Highway 19. The friendliest wave in the area with surf lessons and good food, though strong rip currents catch careless swimmers.
How we score beachesSwim in front of the restaurant, and stay out of the quiet patches between breakers, where the rip pulls hardest. Lifeguards are not always on duty.
A few hundred meters of dirt track lead off Highway 19 to the beach. A standard rental car handles it, and no four wheel drive is needed.
The dirt track is passable in a regular car, and the beach is a short walk from parking over soft sand.
Pacific swell is strongest in summer and fall, and the water is cooler than on the Sea of Cortez side. Hurricane season runs roughly June through November.

A cenote sits just inland from the sand, and the whole stretch has stayed undeveloped specifically because of its protected status.

Chacala
Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico · Mexico & Central America
Chacala sits in a small cove on Mexico's Riviera Nayarit, about 90 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, a nearly mile long beach of soft, pale sand lined with palm trees and palapa restaurants.
