Plum Cove Beach
Gloucester, MA
Plum Cove Beach is a small, calm cove beach on Washington Street in northern Gloucester. The water is shallow enough that families with small children like it, and lifeguards work from Father's Day through Labor Day. It is a low key neighborhood spot rather than a destination beach.
A calm, small cove with lifeguards is ideal for little kids, but sticker only parking means it is really a neighborhood beach.
How we score beachesParking is limited and a Gloucester resident beach sticker is required, so most visitors will need to arrive by bike or walk from nearby streets.
Parking is limited and requires a Gloucester resident beach sticker.
The cove is a short walk from the street, ending on sand.
The small cove warms up a little faster than open ocean beaches. Weekday mornings in July and August are calm.
