Point Hudson
Port Townsend, WA
Point Hudson is a small, dog-friendly beach at the east edge of downtown Port Townsend, next to the Point Hudson Marina and RV park. It once held a tidal lagoon, filled in the late 1800s, and later saw duty as a mission, shipyard, sawmill, and icehouse before settling into its current quiet role as a beach walk.
Small but genuinely walkable and dog friendly, valuable mainly as the launch point for the longer beach walk north rather than a destination in its own right.
How we score beachesUse it as the southern end of the walk toward Chetzemoka Park and, at low tide, on to Fort Worden, rather than a standalone destination. That connective walk is the real draw.
Free public access; the adjacent marina and RV park are separate paid facilities.
Dogs are allowed and commonly swim here.
