Ponte Vedra Beach runs along A1A through one of Northeast Florida's more upscale communities, with access points including Mickler's Beach at the south end and a smaller lot near the GTM Research Reserve's education center. The South Ponte Vedra Beach Recreation Area, a few miles south, offers a quieter second option with its own limited parking and picnic area.
The upscale, well kept feel and multiple access points are real advantages, though the limited parking at each one means a full lot just means trying the next.
How we score beachesMickler's Beach has one of the more reliable public lots in the area, worth the drive if the smaller access points near the education center are full. Leashed dogs are welcome here, though not at Anastasia State Park just south, a real distinction worth knowing before bringing a pet along the coast.
Parking is available at Mickler's Beach and near the GTM Education Center; both fill quickly at peak times.
