Riverhead Beach
Marblehead, MA
Riverhead Beach in Marblehead is a mixed sand and cobble beach beside the Devereux Beach lot. It is a public beach with its own parking lot open to non-residents. Kayaks and paddleboards launch from here for residents with racks in season.
A handy, less crowded public beach beside Devereux, but the cobble and small size mean it is more for launching than lounging.
How we score beachesIf the main Devereux lot is full or you'd rather skip the crowd, the Riverhead lot is the alternative for non-residents.
Non-residents can park in the Riverhead lot when the main Devereux lot is full.
The beach is a short walk from the lot, and the shore is a mix of sand and cobble that can be uneven.
Summer is the busy season, and fall paddling is popular. Cobble at the tide line gets slick.
