Rock Hall Beach (Ferry Park)

Rock Hall, MD

ScenicUncrowded

Locals just call it Ferry Park, a small town swimming beach in Rock Hall that once served as the landing for a ferry crossing the Bay to Baltimore before the Bay Bridge existed. The gazebo and boardwalk here look straight across the water toward the bridge and the western shore, one of the better sunset spots on this side of the Chesapeake.

A genuine small-town beach with a real sunset view and some local history behind it, held back only by the total lack of lifeguards or facilities beyond a boardwalk.

How we score beaches

Show up for sunset even if you've already had your swim. The view across to the Bay Bridge from the boardwalk is the real draw come evening.

Accessibility

A boardwalk with benches runs along the beach; there are portable toilets but no bathhouse.
