Rockaway Beach

Rockaway Beach is a cove beach with a real surf break, connected to the Reina del Mar Trail along Calera Creek for anyone walking in from elsewhere in town. A Golden Gate National Recreation Area visitor center nearby has maps and information if you're planning to explore more of the surrounding parkland.
A genuinely solid surf cove with a real trail connection to the rest of town, though it doesn't have the scale or fame of Linda Mar just south.
How we score beachesStop at the visitor center first if you're new to the area, it's a good place to get oriented before exploring the rest of the GGNRA land around Pacifica.
Free parking is available near the beach.
Stairs and a path lead down to the cove beach.
Dogs are welcome on the sand at Rockaway Beach as long as they stay on a leash, a rule enforced by Pacifica police.
Winter swells bring the most consistent surf here, while fog is common most mornings year round.
