Sea Street Beach in East Dennis has gentle surf, soft white sand, and tidal flats that stretch out as the Cape Cod Bay tide drops. It is a small neighborhood beach, so you share the flats with a handful of people rather than a crowd. Lifeguards work the season, a portable toilet is the only facility, and Cold Storage Beach is right next door.

How we score beachesCome early in summer, because the lot is small and fills first. Walkers do best here at mid to low tide, when the flats are firm and wide open.
A small lot sits at the end of Sea Street. A Dennis beach pass or a daily fee is required from the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, so check current town signage.
Parking is a short walk from the sand, which is soft and white near the top of the beach and flat and wet on the tidal flats. Expect a portable toilet rather than a bathhouse.
Cape Cod Bay water is gentle and warms up nicely by midsummer, and July and August are the busiest weeks. Off-season mornings are quiet, with long views across the flats.
