Family-friendlyBoardwalkScenic

Seagull Beach in West Yarmouth is the town's largest beach, a long stretch of sand facing Nantucket Sound off Sea Gull Road. It has a big lot, a bathhouse with showers and restrooms, a snack bar, and a boardwalk over the dunes. Marsh behind the beach brings in terns, herons, and sandpipers. Lifeguards cover the swim area in season.

Real facilities, a wide beach, and warm Sound water make it the Yarmouth go-to. The daily parking fee and midsummer crowds are the trade.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

The lot is large but still fills on hot July weekends, so get there before late morning. Town beach lots are generally free outside the summer pass season.

Parking

A large lot at the end of Sea Gull Road takes a daily fee in season, with weekly and seasonal passes also offered, so check the town's current rates. The gate is reportedly locked overnight.

Accessibility

A boardwalk crosses the dunes to the sand, and the beach is regularly described as one of the more accessible on the Cape. Call the town to confirm what mobility equipment is on hand.

Weather & the best time to visit

Nantucket Sound water is among the warmest on the Cape by August. June and September are calmer, with room to spread out.
