Secline Beach
Kings Beach, CA
Secline Beach is a small public beach where Secline Avenue meets Lake Tahoe in Kings Beach, owned by the California Tahoe Conservancy and Placer County. A forested upland behind the sand has shaded picnic tables and barbecues, giving it more of a neighborhood park feel than the busy state beach down the road.
Shade, grills, and fewer people than Kings Beach, but parking is scarce.
How we score beachesGrill at the shaded tables and swim when you're done. Few Kings Beach spots let you grill in the shade this close to the water.
Limited parking near the end of Secline Avenue; follow posted neighborhood rules.
A short walk from the street end through the trees to the sand.
Summer is best for picnics and swimming, and the tree cover helps on hot afternoons.
