Secret Cove
Incline Village, NV
Secret Cove is a series of small granite-framed beaches on Lake Tahoe's East Shore south of Incline Village, reached on foot from the Secret Harbor trailhead. It's known as the lake's clothing-optional beach. The boulders make private little pockets of sand, and the water is some of the clearest on the whole shoreline.
Stunning water and a relaxed, private feel, but the clothing-optional scene isn't for everyone and there are no facilities at the sand.
How we score beachesClothing is optional, not mandatory. Plenty of people swim here in regular suits, but know what you're walking into before you bring the family.
Free parking at the Secret Harbor lot off Highway 28, which fills early on summer weekends.
About a half mile walk on a dirt trail from the vault toilet near the lot, with a steep section near the shore.
July and August are best for swimming. Early fall is quieter and still warm enough to sit on the rocks in the afternoon sun.
