Spreckelsville Beach

Paia, HI

SurfingFamily-friendlyUncrowded

Spreckelsville Beach runs along a long, open stretch near Kahului Airport, popular with windsurfers and kiteboarders who use the reliable trade winds here the same way Hookipa's surfers use its swell. The far west end, known locally as Baby Beach, offers a calmer, reef protected pool that's a favorite for families avoiding the wind sport traffic further east.

Locals Score🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥

A real wind sports destination with a calmer family pocket at Baby Beach, but the lack of any real parking lot or facilities keeps it a locals only kind of spot.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Stick to the west end Baby Beach section for a calm swim. The main stretch east toward the airport belongs mostly to windsurfers and kiteboarders launching and landing.

Parking

Limited, informal parking along the access roads off Nonohe Place and Kealakai Place serves the beach, with no large dedicated lot.

Accessibility

A sandy walk from informal roadside parking to the beach, flat but without paved paths or facilities.

Weather & the best time to visit

Summer trade winds blow strongest here, exactly what the windsurfing crowd wants, while winter is calmer and quieter on the water.
