Spruce Hill Beach
Brewster, MA
Spruce Hill Beach lies below a conservation area in Brewster, where a hiking path winds through the woods before dropping to Cape Cod Bay. The beach itself is quiet and modest, but the walk in makes it feel far from the road. A dozen parking spaces keep visits few.
A quiet beach reached by a hiking trail feels like a local secret, but a tiny lot and uneven path limit access.
How we score beachesPair the beach with the conservation area trail. The path is a nice way to warm up before a swim.
A Brewster beach permit is required from mid June through the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The lot holds about a dozen cars.
The hiking path is unpaved and uneven, and the beach is soft sand. It is not a good choice for wheelchairs.
Dogs are prohibited from mid May to mid September.
Summer is warmest. Fall trail walks are cool and clear, and the beach is peaceful.
