Stephens Field Beach
Plymouth, MA
Stephens Field Beach is a small cove beach at the Sandwich Street park in Plymouth, a 7 acre oceanfront property with playing fields behind a sandy shore. The cove is calmer than the open coast, and the park is a good place for a swim, a picnic, and a walk after a ball game.
A pleasant cove with a park behind it that locals use often, though it is modest in size and not as scenic as the Long Beach side.
How we score beachesBring a chair and a picnic, and stay for the sunset over the harbor. It is often quieter than Nelson Beach.
A parking area serves the park. Check current signage for hours and any seasonal rules.
Flat park grounds lead to the sand. The surface at the water is regular soft sand.
Summer is the best season, with warm cove water in August. Fall is quiet and clear.
