Sunset Beach
Koh Kradan, Trang, Thailand
Sunset Beach is the quieter western shore of Koh Kradan in Trang province, Thailand, a short walk across the island from the long main beach that gets most of the attention. There's less wave action here than on the east side, the swimming stays calmer, and as the name promises it's the spot locals and the handful of resort guests head to for the evening light.
Calmer water and real solitude compared to the main beach, but it's unmaintained and has no facilities of its own, so most people still treat it as a side trip rather than the main event.
Skip the main beach around sunset and cut across the island instead. There's no boat pier or facilities on this side, so bring your own water.
Koh Kradan has no roads or cars. Longtail boats and speedboats run from Trang's Pak Meng or Kuantung piers, and from the island's one pier it's a walk across to the western shore.
The path across the island is a short, mostly flat sandy and dirt track between the two coasts, walkable in about ten minutes, though it's not maintained the way the main beach is.
November through April is the dry season and the reliable window for calm water and clear diving conditions around Kradan. The monsoon months of May through October bring rain and choppier boat crossings from the mainland.

Sanom Beach

Sanom Beach sits at the far southern end of Pattaya Beach on Koh Lipe, Thailand, reached by a wooden walkway over the rocks once the main beach runs out. Bamboo Bay, also called Ao Mai Phai, is the last beach before Koh Lanta's national park boundary, a two kilometer curve of sand at the island's southern tip in Krabi province, Thailand. Big boulders break up the shoreline in places, the water stays clear enough to see your feet, and by evening the day trippers have mostly cleared out.
Hua Laem Beach

Hua Laem Beach is one of a handful of small coves tucked along the north shore of Koh Wai, a tiny car-free island in Trat province, Thailand, inside Mu Ko Chang National Park. Shady trees crowd right up to the sand, the water is shallow and clear enough to snorkel straight off the beach, and a coral reef runs along much of this coastline about 40 meters out.
