Swifts Beach
Wareham, MA
Swifts Beach is a public beach in a residential neighborhood in Wareham, with sand and a grassy border on Buzzards Bay. Non-residents can get in with a fee, so it is not restricted to town sticker holders. Expect a quiet neighborhood feel rather than a village scene, and check current rules before you go.
Open to visitors and quiet, but the fee setup is fiddly and there are few amenities to lean on.
How we score beachesA non-resident sticker is $50 and is only good for Swifts Beach and the Onset boat ramp. If you are only visiting once or twice, the $10 day pass from the office is the cheaper route.
Neighborhood lot for the beach, with a non-resident sticker at $50 or a $10 day pass bought at the office.
Grass and sand border the shore, so expect soft ground. Not confirmed as ADA accessible.
This is a summer beach, best from late June through early September when fees and staffing are in effect. Bay water stays a few degrees warmer than the open Atlantic side of the Cape.
