Titlow Beach
Tacoma, WA
Titlow Beach sits in a 75-acre waterfront park on the Tacoma Narrows, right next to the bridge, on the site of a Swiss chalet style resort hotel that burned and closed in the 1920s. It's a genuine local scuba diving spot today, with a sprayground, an adaptive playground, and a small boardwalk rounding out the family side of the park.
A genuine history angle, real amenities, and active local dive community use make this a strong, well rounded beach.
How we score beachesThe scuba diving community treats this as a regular spot, so expect gear and wetsuits on the beach even on an ordinary weekend.
Free entry and generally free parking, though lots fill on sunny weekends.
