Vixen Point
Prickly Pear Island, North Sound, British Virgin Islands
Vixen Point sits on the southwestern tip of Prickly Pear Island, an uninhabited national park in the British Virgin Islands' North Sound just east of Virgin Gorda, reachable only by boat. A white sand beach fronts calm, clear water, and the island's protected status since 1988 means no further development will ever crowd the shoreline.
A genuinely protected, undeveloped island beach with real hiking beyond just the sand, though it's only reachable by boat, which keeps it firmly in sailing charter territory rather than a casual day trip.
Hike the trail from Vixen Point around the salt ponds to the north shore, where two more secluded beaches sit well away from the boat traffic near the main landing.
There's no vehicle access anywhere on the island. Most visitors arrive by private boat or as part of a sailing charter through the North Sound.
Boats typically anchor offshore with a short swim or dinghy ride to the beach, and the island's hiking trail is informal, uneven terrain.
The dry season from December through April brings the calmest sailing conditions for reaching the North Sound, while hurricane season runs June through November across the BVI.

Lime Cay sits about fifteen minutes by boat from Port Royal, at the mouth of Kingston Harbour in Jamaica, a small uninhabited sandbar island that floods partially at high tide and has no facilities of any kind.
