Waiʻalae Beach Park

Waiʻalae Beach Park sits along Kahala's quiet shoreline, a narrow grass strip backed by a seawall with a small boat ramp at the west end. Wind conditions here draw kitesurfers and windsurfers more reliably than swimmers, since the wide reef flat keeps the water shallow well past the shorebreak.
A real wind sports spot for the kite and windsurf crowd, but the shallow reef flat makes it a poor choice for casual swimming.

A small lot sits off Kahala Avenue near the boat ramp, rarely full outside of weekend kite sessions.
A paved path connects the lot to a seawall staircase, then it's a short walk over sand and exposed reef to reach open water.
Trade winds blow steadiest in summer, which is exactly what the kite crowd waits for. Winter brings choppier, less predictable wind.
