Waverly Beach Park
Kirkland, WA
Waverly Beach Park is a small, 2.76 acre Lake Washington park with a guarded swim area enclosed by a U-shaped dock, wide steps for wading in gradually, and a separate windsurfing area. It's the least known of Kirkland's three lifeguarded beaches, small enough to stay under the radar even in summer.
Real and genuinely lifeguarded, but small and minor compared to Kirkland's bigger, better known beaches.
How we score beachesThe U-shaped dock and wide steps make this a good pick for less confident swimmers or younger kids who want a gradual, guarded entry into the water.
