Whale Beach
Incline Village, NV
Whale Beach is a short, 100 yard beach on Lake Tahoe's East Shore south of Incline Village, named for a rock in the bay that looks like a whale's back breaking the surface. It's the southernmost of the beaches reached from the Secret Harbor area, and it tends to be the least crowded of the group.
Quiet and scenic with an easy landmark, but it's small and there are no restrooms or tables.
How we score beachesLook for the whale rock just offshore. On a calm day it's fun to swim out and sit on it.
Free parking at the Secret Harbor lot off Highway 28.
The trail starts steep from the lot, then levels out; there are no facilities at the beach.
Summer is the season, with the gate on the access road typically open from Memorial Day into October.
