Whales Beach
Swampscott, MA
Whales Beach is a small Swampscott beach reached by a trail from Phillips Park off Puritan Road. It sits beside Eisman's Beach and shares the same parking lot approach. The walk in keeps the crowds thin, and the beach has no lifeguard.
A quiet spot reached by a short trail, but sticker parking and no lifeguard limit it.
How we score beachesPark in the Phillips Park lot beside the football field and walk the trail to Puritan Road. A recreation sticker is required.
Use the Phillips Park lot next to the football field, with a Swampscott recreation sticker required.
A trail leads from the lot to Puritan Road and the beach, so expect a walk over uneven ground.
Dogs are allowed October 1 to May 20 and must be leashed to the high water mark.
The crowd is thin most of the summer. No lifeguard is on duty, so swim carefully.
