Zephyr Cove Beach
Zephyr Cove, NV
Zephyr Cove Beach, on Lake Tahoe's southeast shore in Nevada, is the lakefront at Zephyr Cove Resort, home port of the M.S. Dixie II paddlewheeler. It's a lively beach with volleyball courts, a restaurant, a beach bar, a general store, and a long menu of water rentals. Summer weekends here are loud and social.
Fun if you want a scene, with volleyball and a bar on the sand, but it's busy and parking isn't cheap.
How we score beachesIf you want a quieter swim, walk south along the sand away from the pier and the volleyball courts. The crowd thins out fast.
Paid parking is available at the resort off Highway 50; it fills on summer weekends and when the Dixie is running.
A short walk from the lots to wide, flat sand; the restaurant and store sit near the beach.
Summer is peak season with boats and cruises running daily. Off-season the beach is calm and mostly empty.
