Bird Creek Park

Bird Creek Park sits at the end of a long drive through salt marsh and tidal creek in Yankeetown, a small white sand beach on Withlacoochee Bay that feels genuinely remote even by Nature Coast standards. The park reopened in 2025 after storm damage, though its picnic pavilions remained closed as repairs continued.
The remote marsh drive and small beach have a real end-of-the-road charm, though the recent storm damage, pavilion closures, and new no-pets rule are real drawbacks right now.

The beach is a short, flat walk from the parking areas. Restrooms are on site, though pavilions were still closed for repair as of 2025.
New signage indicates pets aren't allowed, a recent change from when dogs were previously seen at the park.
Spring and fall bring the mildest weather for the marsh drive and the beach. Summer's heat and hurricane season, June through November, are real considerations on this exposed, remote stretch of coast.
