The southernmost beach in Texas, where the Rio Grande meets the Gulf and the sand stretches on with almost nobody on it most days. It has become better known in recent years for the rocket launches visible from the shoreline, but locals still come mainly for the solitude.

The southernmost tip of Texas barely sees a true winter, with water staying swimmable most of the year and only dipping into the 60s at its coolest. Hurricane season runs June through November, worth checking alongside any active launch closures before a visit.
