Bonbon Beach

Bonbon Beach sits in Barangay Lonos on Romblon Island in the Philippines, just five kilometers from Romblon Port, and its real draw is the sandbar stretching out toward the uninhabited Bang-og Island. At low tide you can walk the full sandbar out to the island, and at high tide it disappears to about waist deep, which changes the whole feel of the place through the day.
The sandbar walk is a genuinely rare experience for the province, though the land is privately held, so it depends on continued goodwill from the owner and visitors respecting the site.
Time a visit around low tide if walking the sandbar is the point, and check a tide chart before heading out since the difference between high and low here is dramatic.
A tricycle or motorbike from Romblon Port takes about ten minutes, or it's roughly a 45 minute walk along the coastal road if you'd rather skip the ride.
The beach itself is flat and easy to reach on foot, though walking the sandbar to Bang-og Island means wading through shallow water that gets deeper as the tide comes in.
The dry season from roughly November through May brings calmer seas and the most reliable low tide windows for the sandbar walk, while the wetter months from June through October bring more rain and choppier crossings to Romblon.
