Cypress Bend Park Beach
Many, LA
Cypress Bend Park sits on Toledo Bend Reservoir near Many, a Sabine River Authority park with a large sand beach that doubles as the go to spot for reunions and church group outings in this part of the state. A six lane boat ramp and lighted pier keep fishing traffic separate from the swimming area. Cabins and RV sites line the shore close enough that some guests never leave the park for the day.
A big, genuinely sandy beach built for group outings, but the early gate closure and lake sized crowds on summer weekends keep it from feeling like a quiet local spot.
How we score beachesThe gate closes at 5pm, earlier than a lot of visitors expect from a lake park, so plan a day trip accordingly rather than counting on an evening swim.
A lot inside the park serves the beach and pavilions directly, with day use fees collected at the gate.
A flat, short walk from parking to the sand, with a beach volleyball area and playground right alongside it.
Western Louisiana's swim season runs roughly late spring through early fall, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Toledo Bend's size means afternoon wind can kick up chop, so mornings tend to be the calmest time to swim.
