Juara Beach

Juara Beach stretches along the east coast of Tioman Island in Malaysia, a world away from the busier jetty towns on the west side and reachable for years only by a long jungle trek or boat. Powdery sand runs beside a coral reef at the deeper end of the bay, and the pace in the village behind it still feels unhurried compared to the rest of the island.
A genuinely different pace from Tioman's west coast with real coral just offshore, though its isolation during monsoon season means it's only reliably reachable about half the year.
Cross the island by the short jungle trail from Tekek if the seas are calm. It's a scenic couple hours on foot and cheaper than chartering a boat around the coast.
There's no road connecting Juara to the main jetty towns for most vehicles. A boat around the island or the jungle trail from Tekek are the two practical ways in.
The beach is flat and open once you arrive, but getting there involves either a hiking trail through rainforest or a boat landing directly on the sand, neither of which suits limited mobility.
The dry season from March through September brings the calmest seas for the boat crossing, while the monsoon from November through February brings rough water and can cut the east coast off from boat traffic.

Sanom Beach

Sanom Beach sits at the far southern end of Pattaya Beach on Koh Lipe, Thailand, reached by a wooden walkway over the rocks once the main beach runs out. Bamboo Bay, also called Ao Mai Phai, is the last beach before Koh Lanta's national park boundary, a two kilometer curve of sand at the island's southern tip in Krabi province, Thailand. Big boulders break up the shoreline in places, the water stays clear enough to see your feet, and by evening the day trippers have mostly cleared out.
Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is the quieter western shore of Koh Kradan in Trang province, Thailand, a short walk across the island from the long main beach that gets most of the attention. There's less wave action here than on the east side, the swimming stays calmer, and as the name promises it's the spot locals and the handful of resort guests head to for the evening light.
