Kakome Beach

Kakome Beach sits in a small bay on Albania's Ionian coast near Himare, formed by tectonic and karst activity between two rocky capes, with clear turquoise water and fine white sand that stays relatively untouched compared to more developed parts of the Riviera. A scenic footpath leads in, passing an abandoned hotel construction site along the way.
A genuinely untouched cove that's stayed quiet despite its beauty, though the total lack of facilities and the walk past an abandoned construction site are real tradeoffs.
Bring your own food and water. There are no facilities at the beach itself, and the walk in, roughly 30 minutes, is longer than it might look on a map.
There's limited parking near the trailhead, from which a scenic path of about 30 minutes leads down to the beach.
The approach is a walking path over uneven ground, not suited to strollers or limited mobility, and there's no paved access anywhere near the beach.
June through September brings the warm, calm water typical of the Ionian coast, with the walk in far more comfortable outside the peak midday heat of summer.
