Long Beach

Long Beach runs nearly 15 kilometers down the west coast of San Vicente, Palawan, in the Philippines, broken into a handful of separate stretches by rocky headlands rather than one continuous run. It's billed as the longest white sand beach in the country, and with almost no resorts or restaurants built along most of it, the shoreline still feels genuinely undeveloped.
An enormous, still mostly undeveloped stretch of sand that's rare to find anywhere in the country, though the lack of any real infrastructure means it takes some planning to see more than the one section nearest your accommodation.
At low tide you can walk around the rocky points between sections, which locals say makes the whole beach effectively continuous even though it isn't at high tide.
San Vicente is a few hours by van from Puerto Princesa, and once there, a motorbike or tricycle gets you to whichever stretch of Long Beach you're aiming for, since the sections are spread across a few barangays.
Most access points are flat, informal paths from the coastal road down to the sand, with no boardwalks or paving, and soft sand underfoot the rest of the way.
The dry season from November through May brings calmer water for swimming, while the wet season from June through October brings the swell that draws surfers to the Alimanguan stretch of the beach.

Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is the quieter western shore of Koh Kradan in Trang province, Thailand, a short walk across the island from the long main beach that gets most of the attention. There's less wave action here than on the east side, the swimming stays calmer, and as the name promises it's the spot locals and the handful of resort guests head to for the evening light.
