Mandeville Lakefront Beach

Mandeville, LA

Family-friendlyScenic

Mandeville Lakefront Beach is a small, man-made strip of white sand at the east end of Lakeshore Drive and Jackson Avenue, put in by the city in 2017. It runs about 100 feet along the seawall across from the Pontchartrain Yacht Club, right beside the children's playground and splash park. Restaurants are a short walk away, so a beach day here easily turns into dinner.

Locals Score🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥

A genuinely walkable lakefront with a splash pad, restaurants, and shade, though the beach itself is tiny and manmade, and swimming depends on the lake's water quality that day.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Walk the 1.5 mile lakefront path under the live oaks before or after, and look at the weekly water testing results before letting kids wade in.

Parking

Parking is available on Lakeshore Drive at the park entrance, across the street on Jackson Avenue, and farther down Lakeshore Drive a short walk away.

Accessibility

The sand sits right next to the seawall and the lakefront walking paths, so the walk from the car is short and mostly paved.

Weather & the best time to visit

Summer is the main swim season, hot and humid, with the lake warm by late spring. Hurricane season runs June through November, and algae advisories have closed this beach before, so check conditions in summer.
