Navarre Beach centers on a 1,545-foot pier, one of the longest on the Gulf, rising 30 feet above the water with a restaurant and bait shop built right onto it. The barrier island stays less developed than nearby Pensacola Beach or Destin, with long stretches of protected dune backing the sand.
The long pier and less developed dune stretches make it a genuine step down in crowding from Destin or Pensacola Beach, though the narrow pet hours are a real constraint for dog owners.
How we score beachesParking is free but fills early on weekends, so get there before mid-morning in season. Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach before 9am and after 5pm, a workaround for anyone traveling with a pet who can time it right.
