Padre Balli Park runs along more than a mile of its own Gulf beachfront on North Padre Island, a 374 acre Nueces County park positioned between the national seashore and the Whitecap area. It's built around camping rather than a day visit, with paved RV sites and a shower facility that make it a genuinely different experience from the beaches immediately around it.

The camping infrastructure genuinely sets it apart from a plain beach access point, though it's built more for a multi day stay than a quick afternoon trip.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Book a premium waterfront site ahead of a summer weekend. The park fills with regulars who return year after year, and walk up availability gets thin fast.

Parking

A beach parking permit is required to drive on the sand. Premium RV sites with full hookups run fifty dollars a night.

Accessibility

Paved campground roads lead to the beach, with a shower facility on site.

Pets

Leashed dogs are allowed.

Weather & the best time to visit

Summer is peak camping season, with Gulf water in the low 80s. Hurricane season runs June through November.
