Pleasure Point Beach
Florien, LA
Pleasure Point sits on Toledo Bend Reservoir's southern end near Florien, a Sabine River Authority park with three miles of shoreline and a white sand beach a few miles north of the dam. It's smaller and less programmed than Cypress Bend Park further up the lake, which keeps it a step quieter even on a busy weekend. The gate locks up at 5pm sharp, so this is strictly a daytime spot unless you're camping.
Three miles of real sand shoreline for a small day use fee is hard to beat on this lake, but it's still a destination lake beach, not a spot most people are stopping at on the way to somewhere else.
How we score beachesThe turn onto Pleasure Point Road is easy to miss between mile markers 5 and 6 on Highway 191. Slow down once the odometer gets close.
A lot inside the park serves the beach, with a small per adult day use fee collected at the gate; kids 12 and under get in free.
A short, flat walk from parking to the sand, with a fishing pier alongside the swimming area.
Western Louisiana's swim season runs roughly late spring through early fall, with hot summers and mild winters compared to north Louisiana. Toledo Bend's water level can shift with drought and rainfall upstream, worth a quick check before a trip.
